Case Studies - Fully Funded EWI, UFI and Solar PV, Buckinghamshire

Brief summary

Mrs Smith took full advantage of the free energy saving and Carbon reducing funding that was available to her, and has already started reducing her energy bills.  She benefited from External Wall Insulation (EWI) in February 2022 via NEF (National Energy Foundation), and was contacted by Platinum Park Home Services (PPHS) almost a year later after obtaining funding through City Energy for Underfloor Insulation (UFI) and Solar Photovoltaic (Solar PV), which only residents who have EWI could benefit from in line with the Government Department for Business, Energy
& Industrial Strategy’s (BEIS) fabric first approach methodology.

Mrs Smith was particularly pleased with the news she could benefit from the additional funding and snapped up the chance. Due to the professional reputation we had upheld on the park, and the experience Mrs Smith had with both our office and our installation team, she did not hesitate to have PPHS return to carry out the additional works on her home.

Work carried out

PPHS carried out External Wall & Underfloor Insulation in addition to a brand new in-roof Solar PV system.

We upgraded Mrs Smith’s mechanical ventilation system in her home to brand new Decentralised Mechanical vents. The works required to enable us to start on Mrs Smith’s home also involved relocating a sky dish and extending her LPG regulator and pipes.

Mrs Smith was one of the very lucky few on the park who was able to benefit from having a brand new Solar PV system installed on her property. She was very excited about this and couldn’t wait to start saving money on her bills.

An additional survey was conducted before we started the Solar PV installation. This enabled Tommy (our experienced head of Solar PV) to create a plan of the best position for the panels to ensure we maximise the amount of energy that could be generated.

Tommy and our colleague Olly began installing the GSE in-roof Solar PV system, and completed all the works within 2 days. To help save her space, Tommy also looked into, and arranged for the relocation of her inverter to the external wall, from its previous location within her wardrobe.  We feel leaving the customer fully happy is our number one priority

Mrs Smith is now sat in a warm home with a few extra pennies in her pocket, after taking full advantage of the funding that was available to her.
